The Foundation acts as a catalyst for our urban forest’s growth and protection, and works to obtain funds to build and sustain current projects. Our volunteer network provides the support necessary to do large-scale plantings without significant costs, and furthers our goal of involving the community in the rich tree tradition of our area. Your membership dues and donations help fund the engine that runs each critical program and increases our ability to raise grant money and donations from major contributors for special tree projects and initiatives.

Goals & Objectives

  • Educate the community about the benefits of trees
  • Assist the City of Modesto and other communities in Stanislaus County in their Urban Forestry Development initiatives
  • Provide beautification teams in the Greater Modesto area with trees to compliment their projects
  • Form partnerships with corporations and civic groups to encourage long range planning, conservation and beautification strategies
  • Develop the Trees for Tots Oak Grove in the Dry Creek riparian area along the Peggy Mensinger trail from the El Vista Bridge to the McClure House.
  • Develop Funds to provide trees for the 4.2 mile long Virginia Corridor multi-use trail from Needham Avenue to Bangs Avenue.

Please join with us as we work to continue Modesto’s rich tree tradition. In this era of California governmental budget cutbacks and the sacrifice of Urban Forestry initiatives in favor of other governmental priorities, we can work to keep the development and preservation of our urban forest safe.
